I’ve got my VPS activated, now what?

Now, that you have your VPS activated. There are a couple of things that you need to do to get things rolling. Below we've outlined the few steps that we suggest doing first:

Creating a cPanel Account:

  1. Login to the WHM (WebHost Manager – this information is in your welcome email)
  2. Scroll down to the "Account Functions" section
  3. Click on "Create a new account"
  4. At the top of the page click "Logout"

How to login to your cPanel:

  1. Now, that you have your account created, go to http://your-vps-ip-address/cpanel
  2. Input the username / password that you would have created in step 3 (above)
  3. Now you're logged into your cPanel hosting account!

The above will create a cPanel hosting account, within the hosting account you can start uploading your site and doing all the things you need to with a VPS.

* Please note that you will need to replace "your-vps-ip-address" with your IP address that was provided to you're in the welcome email.

Uploading your content:

You may login via FTP using the same username / password as you created when you originally setup your cPanel account. Below is an outline of the information that you would need to get logged in:

  1. FTP IP / Domain
  2. Username
  3. Password
  4. Port: 21

Once connected, you will need to publish your content (upload your content) into the /public_html/ folder for it to be visible online.

* Please note that you will need a FTP client such as FileZilla to be able to use FTP.
