How do I change apache to module?

By default, we disable the chmod 777 functionality for security reasons. However, you are always able to change to module (which supports chmod 777). Please follow the below steps:

  • Login to your /whm control panel
  • Locate the "Service configuration" option on the left hand pane
  • Click on "PHP & PHPSUEXEC"
  • There you will see something that looks like this:
Default PHP Version (.php files)   5
    PHP 5 Handle   suPHP
    PHP 4 Handler   suPHP
    Apache suEXEC   On
  • We suggest that you set the "PHP 5 Handler" to DSO
  • Now, please click "Save New Configuration"

The above changes should make your chmod 777 functionality work again.
