How do I enable SMTP on another port?

Changing the SMTP port often helps in situations where the standard port (port 25) is blocked. Doing this will still allow you to use your VPS's mail server to send outbound emails (instead of using your ISP's which can be slow). To do this, please view below:

How to change the SMTP Port:

  1. Login to your WHM (Web Host Manager)
  2. Scroll down until you come to "Service Configuration"
  3. Then click on "Service Manager"
  4. Scroll down until you see "exim on another port"
  5. Check both of the boxes before these words
  6. In the box that's there, input 26 (if its not already there).
  7. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "save"

The above will enable this port and you will be able to start using your SMTP mail server instead of the ISP's one.
