How to update cPanel?

Updating cPanel isn't complicated. However, we suggest that you are careful with updates, as it can cause issues on your hosting account. You may follow the below instructions on how to do this:

  1. Login to SSH (Secure Shell) – You may find this information in your welcome email
  2. Run the following command "# /scripts/upcp"
  3. The above command will start the update process. Please wait… as it may take a while.

The upgrade process will take anywhere from 10 to 45 mins, and sometimes maybe longer depending on how many updates there are. Please DO NOT close the SSH window, as this will stop the update process and can cause problems.
